Freund Drehtechnik GmbH is certified according to the environmental management system ISO 14001 and the energy management system ISO 50001.
In addition to the expansion of production capacities and the extension of the administration wing, improvements in working conditions for the workforce and efficient state-of-the-art production were the main specifications for the building project.
In accordance with this basic concept, various measures were implemented to utilise the exhaust air from the automatic lathes, to reduce the primary energy requirement and to optimise the working environment and conserve environmental ressources. The EnergieAgentur NRW provided advice during the planning phase. In detail, the following projects were carried out:
- We do not need primary energy in the form of CO2 generating energy sources such as oil, gas or coal, through the use of heat exchangers in the compressors.
- The energy demand for electrical power has been optimised through automated shutdowns.
- Limitation of cooling lubricant heat emissions through the combination of extraction and cleaning of the warm exhaust air from the machines.
- No significant losses in cooling lubricant consumption due to recovery by means of electrostatic filters.
In conclusion, it can be said that with the construction of a new production and administration facility, an innovative and energy-efficient concept for heat supply and energy saving has been implemented while at the same time improving the working environment.
